Arvin was founded in 1927 for the manufacturing of automobile parts. They made car radios in 1933, home radios in 1934, and television starting in 1948. Arvin produced television sets under the "Arvin" name until 1955, then marketed some of their products under the Silvertone (Sears) brand name, until 1971.
